      Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative     
(WHTI)
   

 

     As of June 1, 2009 both American & Canadian citizens will be required to present a
    WHTI-compliant document for entry into the United States: 

 

    For adults age 16 and older acceptable documents include:
          Enhanced Driver's License
          Enhanced Non-Driver Identification
          FAST Card
          NEXUS Card
          Permanent Resident Card
          Passport
          U.S. Passport Card

 

     For children age 15 and younger acceptable documents include their original
     (or copy) of birth certificate or other proof of citizenship such as a naturalization
     certificate or Canadian citizenship card.
